Women and Girls in Sports

Logo created for the annual Vancouver Whitecaps FC match that celebrates “Women and Girls in Sport Celebration”. The project is a connection between cultural and artistic influences. The idea was to represent women and diversity without using any obvious representations or depicting anything specific, as the concept of women and femininity is personal and unique.

Drawing inspiration from the roots of the three women designers involved, Nicolle from Brazil, Ambar from Mexico and Rena from South Korea, elements like the Pau Brasil leaf and the dahlia flower were integrated to represent their respective countries. The result is a logo that honors women and diversity without relying on obvious representations, creating a meaningful and artistic emblem that resonates with the celebration's theme.

Fun fact: the girls who were part of the event liked the shirt so much they all wore it to go to school the next day. There were more than 80 girls participating on the event.
